Yes you can without a label. It’s ok to want a label. As a matter of fact, the right label can do wonders for an artiste’s profile; but with everything available to artistes these days one thing is clear: you certainly don’t need a record label.

You do need a record label to release and promote music and of course, to blow. There are hundreds and thousands of independent artistes out there that are doing pretty well. All you need is creativity, consistency and the right platform in your locality.

Unsigned artistes don’t need the backing of a label to release or promote music on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Naijadeded the biggest entertainment platform in Nigeria and others. Anyone can release their tracks through an Independent music distributor – sometimes known as a music aggregator – and start collecting royalties from sales and streams.

This internet and social media era, to become famous as an artiste, is very easy. All you need is the right platform. Creativity and consistency like I said earlier.

You’re an upcoming artiste in Nigeria and your songs or profile is not on Naijaloaded? C’mon man you’re not serious! You don’t have an active Facebook and Instagram account? You’re sleeping on bike bro.
