JAMB Candidates To Pay ₦700 For Mock UTME (Read Details)

 

Report has it that The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that candidates are expected to pay N700 to the Computer Based Test centres before taking their mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

JAMB made the announcement three days before the commencement of the mock examination via its Twitter handle.

The payment is different from the N3,500 paid by the candidates for UTME forms (ePINs), and N500 for the reading text.

It was also learnt this is different from the N700 expected to be paid to the CBT centres for the examination.

“All candidates sitting the 2021 Mock examination scheduled for Thursday, 3rd June 2021 are advised to go to their assigned centres with N700. The amount would be paid to the Centre owner as the mock examination fee,” the examination body said.

Earlier, JAMB asked candidates, who had indicated interests to sit for the mock-UTME and had earlier printed the examination slips, were advised to reprint, following the shift in examination date.

“Candidates, who had registered for the 2021 UTME and indicated interest to sit for the optional mock examination, are to reprint their mock notification slips.

“This is consequent on the change of date for the mock- UTME earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 20 and now to hold on Thursday, June 3.

“It is imperative to reprint as the new slip will have a new date.

“As disclosed earlier, the optional mock notification slip can be printed from anywhere that candidates find convenient, provided they have internet access.”

The board explained that each slip contained candidates’ details such as registration number and most importantly, the centre they were to sit for the examination within their chosen examination town.

It added that the slip also contained the expected time to be at the centre.

Candidates, JAMB further advised, were expected to print and study the contents in the slip to avoid mix up in the location of their centres and the name of the examination centres.

Gunmen Kidnapped Lecturer From Staff Quarters Of Taraba State University

 

Reports reaching our front desk that the Head of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management (Faculty of Agriculture) in Taraba state university, Umar Buba has been abducted by gunmen from the staff quarters of the institution in Jalingo, Taraba state capital.

Professor Vincent Ado-Tenebe who is the Vice-Chancellor of the university, said the lecturer was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday May 30.

Tenebe disclosed that the assailants fired sporadic gunshots to displace the security officials attached to the staff quarters during the attack.

He said:-

“This is a very sad story, and it has not happened in the past two to three years ago when we had our Director of Information kidnapped after which we put so many strategies on the ground to prevent ugly situations in the future.

“I am so surprised that this happened again, and I know that we have police personnel, that of NSCDC, our security outfit, and vigilante group members hired by the institution to keep the place safe and despite all of these, the former Dean of Students Affair has been kidnapped.”

The Vice Chancellor also said that the management of the institution would engage concerned authorities to grant licences for staff to have their guns for their protection and that of the students, as they can’t fight gunmen with bare hands.

Tenebe added:-

“If you have a licensed gun and you are trained, then you will be able to defend your family and the immediate community of students.

“We have grown past this, and I don’t think there is going to be any other solution than for us to apply for licencing of arms so that these bandits will know that we are equal to the task to defend the defenceless.”

Buba’s wife, Samira who recalled how he was abducted, said it occurred shortly after they switched off their generator at about 12:15am. Samira disclosed they heard a noise which they believed was a windstorm.

She said:-

“When I met one of them, he asked me where my husband was, and I understood immediately that they were kidnappers. After I understood their plan, I offered myself to be taken as their target instead of my husband and I pleaded that I have a little baby whom I needed to go with and they rejected my offer, insisting that my husband was the target.

“When they gained access … they struggled to go with him (the victim) because he resisted. We have never heard that kind of gunshot in our entire lives.”

Samira revealed that when security operatives arrived at the scene and went after the kidnappers through the bush paths, they found nothing but charms, alcoholic drinks, and some clothes abandoned by the gunmen.

She disclosed that the abductors of her husband have not made any contact with the family to know what their demands were.

Taraba police spokesperson, David Misal confirmed the incident and said the police were on the trail of the kidnappers to rescue the lecturer. He also called on the residents to provide the police with useful information that would aid the rescue of the abducted lecturer.

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has backed the Reds to win the UEFA Champions League trophy next season.

The founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has reportedly been shot by a female police officer in Abuja.

He was reportedly shot at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Sources gathered that he sustained gunshots injuries and has been rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

The development was confirmed by Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who wrote on Twitter that:-

“the criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook”.

Many persons have sustained different degrees of injury after an explosion rocked parts of Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

It was gathered that the explosion occurred at the dry fish section of the market around 6.20am when traders were bringing in their goods and others were opening for business.

In the confusion that ensued, two persons were severely injured, while scores, mostly women, suffered various degrees of injuries.

Confirming the development, the spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, SP. Nnamdi Omoni, told newsmen that police operatives have been deployed to the scene of the incident to ascertain what happened.

He also stated that the injured persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital while no life was lost in the incident.

Northern Youths Commend Police For Timely Elimination Of Ahmed Gulak’s Killers

 

The Northern Youths Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has expressed joy over the news of the timely response of Police Operatives in the interception, arrest and elimination of the IPOB/ESN terrorists that allegedly masterminded the gruesome assassination of Barr Ahmed Ali Gulak.

Late Ahmed Gulak was a chieftain of the APC and one-time Political Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The statement signed by its President, Comrade Abubakar Isah, said, “The proactive approach of the joint security operation has in no small measure calmed the already frayed nerves in the Northern region, especially among the youths and renewed people’s confidence in the ability of the Police to stamp out criminal elements in the country if they are supported and willing to do so.

The statement said, “While we withdraw our early threat on Governor Hope Ozodinma whom we issued an ultimatum for immediate arrest and prosecution of the culprits, we wish to reassure our loving Igbo brothers and sisters living in the Northern part of Nigeria of security and wellbeing as they share in our solidarity for a united, secured and prosperous nation.”

The youth called on the Police and other security agencies to deploy similar energy in tackling other act of criminality across the nation including kidnapping, banditry and terrorism among others.

“The way and manner they responded to the concern of the elites, they should also demonstrate same on plight peace-loving downtrodden masses.”

While sending out heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and associates of Barr Gulak, the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria called for calm and warned against any form of reprisal as the security agencies are on top of the situation.

Why would you play Kevin De Bruyne in a top striking position when you have G-Jesus and Sergio Aguero in the team un-injured.

De Bruyne who was supposed to be controlling the midfield by distributing passes to Sterling, Mahrez and a striker on the pitch was seen struggling to get the ball from mid-fielders.

Fernandiho who is a true defensive midfielder was benched and that gave Chelsea a chance to play a counter-ball in between the two Man-city defenders to score.

Imagine Foden and De Bruyne were the ones playing behind Aguero, Chelsea wouldn’t have won.

Overthinking and Oversabi made Guardiola lost the chance to win a Champions league with a team that doesn’t have a Messi.

Foolish Man!! Now Chelsea Agbero fans will be disturbing everywhere and not allow us rest.

The funny part is that the police officer is a lady. Azin a woman took Almighty Sowore off the ground. His jazz left him immediately. Wonders shall never end!

And that lady must be a Feminist. She targeted his penis area, luckily the teargas cannister kissed his ass instead.

It seems all these juju are powerless piece of shits. What if it was a gun? That would have been his end on Earth.

Buhari Takes Second Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has received his second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

The President took the shot at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The second dose is being administered exactly 12 weeks after the first shot was taken on March 6.

The President’s inoculation was done by the Chief Personal Physician to the President, Dr. Suhayb Rafindadi Sanusi after which he was presented with the e-vaccination card by the executive director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib.

Instagram Comedian Pankeeroy Released From EFCC Custody, Issues Press Statement (See Here)

 

Popular Instagram comedian and social media influencer Nwagbo Oliver Chidera also known as Pankeeroy, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The social media influencer took to his Instagram page on Friday, May 28, 2021, where he released a press statement about his arrest.

According to the statement released by his legal team, there was no petition against him prior to his arrest.

“It is worthy to state that there was no form of petition against our client and as such, implied that no crime in whatever form was perpetrated against any person(s), company, or establishment by our client,” part of the statement read.

It would be recalled that Pankeeroy, was arrested by the EFFC in April over alleged Internet fraud.

Pankeeroy is alleged to have been involved in ‘Bitcoin scam,’ an illicit act he said he started after falling into depression.

According to the EFCC, the comedian posed as a vendor who redeems bitcoin vouchers using a platform to defraud his unsuspecting victims.

Among the items seized from the comedian include a Mercedes Benz car worth N36M.
