Years ago before the advent of Boko Haram and ISWAP in Northern Nigeria, many Islamic clerics in the North that belong to the Salafist/Wahabist sect were always preaching and telling their followers that there is this grand conspiracy against them by the Christians and Yahudu to destroy them and stop them from fully practicing Islam.

They were always telling their followers that Christians are always meeting and planning day and night on how to destroy their religion.

“Arnan Nigeria gabadaya, tunanin su kawai shi ne su ga yadda za su yake musulmai su kuma rusa addinin musulunci.”

They were always saying that the intention of Nigerian Christians and their foreign allies is to weaken Islam or destroy it. Some of them say things like, if they allow the Christians to have their way, they will even stop Muslims from praying because that is their true intention.

“Idan ka bama arnan Nigeria dama ko iko, asalin abun da suke so shi ne su hana musulmi yin sallah”

They were always telling their people such nonsense lies and sowing suspicion and hate. They tell peopple to fight for the establishment of an Islamic state where Muslims will be govern by Islamic laws. That is what lead some governors to go ahead and declare Sharia law in some northern states in order to please this the clerics and their followers.

They kept telling their followers to be very suspicious of Christians and to always anticipate for an apocalyptic religious war that will breakout any time because the Christians and their foreign allies hate their religion and want to destroy it. They used to tell the people that the offering and tithes Christians are contributing in their various churches is to buy weapons and and store them inside their churches, weapons that they will later use the to fight them. They were just teaching their followers to hate the non Muslims. 100% of the time that was what a lot of those Salafist/Wahabist clerics were doing.

These clerics kept promoting this narrative and telling the people that they are under siege and are being oppressed because of their religion, so they made the people to believe that they were victims of this up coming Christian onslaught and attack. Some of the clerics say these things openly openly while others say it subliminally but the message was the same. They can deny this the way they always love denying everything, but it is the truth. They also keep promoting the hate of the West ( Yahudu and Nasara) always. They keep saying that their ways are bad, their culture is evil and their only target is to destroy their religion.

Many people agreed with this view and held on to it. Many became radicalised as a result. So when the USA and their allies started the war on terror, most of them thought the war their clerics have been telling them about has finally began, especially when the USA told many lies to the world about Saddam Hussein and invaded Iraq based on those lies. George Bush at that time also made the war to be an “us vs them” thing. He made the war to be the West against the Muslims. Many of the northern Muslims started supporting Alqeeda and Taliban and sincerely believed that Alqeeda and Taliban were fighting a legitimate holy war that will eventually lead to the destruction of the infidels and finally lead to the Muslims having control and leadership of the world based on what their clerics were telling them. Many of them believed that the war will eventually lead to the coming of the Mahdi. So they all fully supported Alqeeda and the Talibans.

It was a wave that was all over northern Nigeria. As a Muslim at that time you must support Alqeeda and the Taliban and most of them did. People were naming their male children that were born at that time after Osama and his posters were every where in people’s houses and shops. Osama Bin Laden was revered and seen as a modern day prophet by many of them.

They believed he was fighting a just war against the western infidels that invaded the Muslim lands unjustly based on lies and were killing them. They continued with these teachings for years and these teachings lead to religious crisis btw Christians and Muslims in different parts of the North from Kaduna to Plateau state to Kano, Bauchi and Taraba.

Then came Boko Haram which was as a result of their many years of teaching of hate, suspicion, sensationalism, religious extremism and supremacy. Boko Haram and their brothers the bandits, ISWAP and herdsmen showed them how nihilistic, destructive and deadly the extremism, bigotry, sensationalism and religious supremacy they have been preaching for years can be.

Initially when Boko Haram started, they were targeting and killing only the Nigerian security forces, it wasn’t a problem to them, then Boko Haram graduated to killing only Christians and bombing their churches. When Boko Haram were killing only Christians and bombing their churches, it still wasnt a problem to some of them. Some of them were even happy that unbelievers were targeted and killed by BokoHaram. Pantami said that “We are all happy when unbelievers are killed, but the Sharia doesn’t allow us to kill them without a reason” as long as killing the infidels is done within what they believe to be the dictates of the Sharia many of them have no problem with it. So when Boko Haram were targeting and killing only Christians some of them were happy and did not care at all.

Finally, Boko Haram and their brothers turned their guns on them and started killing them mercilessly more than any other group.

Boko Haram have now forced many of them to change their perception towards the extremism and religious supremacy they’ve been promoting.

Thanks to Boko Haram they can now all see how deadly and destructive all the senseless extremism, sensationalism and the apocalyptic destruction they have been promoting for years looks like. Some of them are now forced to eschew blind support for terrorism, sensationalism and senseless extremism. While many have learned their lessons and have changed their views and perceptions, some of them still haven’t learned anything. Religious extremism never builds anything. It only destroys.

EXPOSED!! You Remember This Oshodi Amputee Hawker? She Actually Lied About Her Condition (See This)

 

I read on the news this morning that Lagos Govt. withheld the N25m donated to viral amputee hawker.

Mary Daniel, the Oshodi amputee hawker who recently went viral..you remember?

She of recent became a sensation after pictures of her selling water at Oshodi went viral on social media.

According to report, she claimed to had lost a leg in an accident that killed all other passengers, including her parents when she was a teenager. She also claimed to be fending for a baby and an aged grandmother. She said she had to drop out of school and hit the streets to make ends meet.

Her touching story prompted many Nigerians to donate money to the tune of N25 million to her bank account, which was made public. However, it has now been found that she did not lose her leg in an accident and neither is her father dead.She was exposed after those who staged her story started threatening that they would reveal the truth unless she gave them their share of the money.

It was also discovered that her presence in Oshodi was staged. Those working with her played on the intelligence of Nigerians to get donations for her. It came to light when the people started threatening her. She promised some N500,000 others different amounts and was planning to return to her home state when the information leaked.

Confirming the development, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu said, “There were irregularities and lies in the account she gave. It was discovered that contrary to her claim that her parents died during an accident that left her amputated, it was discovered that her father is very much alive and that she was amputated from birth.

Wow wow wow!! Things dey occur o.

MY OPINION:
Lagos government did the right thing by arresting her. Perhaps the government does not want a situation where it will become a trend for people to cook up stories, manipulate people to get donations.”

But they should release and give her back all the money. She only lied about her father’s death, the rest accounts are true. Aren’t she amputated for real?

Na better thunder go fire Lagos State government. How many people have they financially assisted? A bigger thunder go strike federal government..if they had fix the country, invest in “Human Development” would anyone think of doing crazy stuff like this?

Besides the money was contributed by concerned Nigerians not by the government. So in my opinion, they should release and give the money back to her before Ogun kill dia papa.

But it shall never be well with this girl and those behind this for deceiving Nigerians. They’d suffer for 600yrs.

People like this make things hard for others. You wouldn’t know who is truly in need and who’s not. May God help us all in country sha. Nwao.

That’s why they stand proud today and why you’ll never find scenes in their movies where a pastor or reverend father walk into a hindu temple, confronts the Hindu priests, battle the Hindu gods, win, convert the villagers, burns down the temple and replace it with a church.

This can never happen in China, Japan and other Asian countries. Does it mean that the white man’s god is
powerless against all the Asian gods, but powerful when matched against the black man’s gods?

We accept everything the white man offered, including their cultures.
I guess many dont even know that libation was a white man’s culture, yet it’s referred back to our forefathers who copied it.

We see our cultures as barbaric but accept worse ones from foreigners.
Sure, they were crude and barbaric but which ancient culture wasn’t? Even the bible and Quran cultures you hold so

Laycon Dropping His Debut Album This Week — What To Expect

 

Laycon has one of the most inspiring come up stories anyone’s heard in a minute.

He attained the status he is at currently through some of the most unconventional ways ever.

What’s the story? He did an EP, “Who is Laycon” and went to the Big Brother Nigeria Reality TV show, during the lockdown last year, so he could get an opportunity to promote his music.

He’s a very good artist, no doubt, but he knew he needed more than just being good to blow in this industry.

So, he went to BB Naija, and in one of the most dramatic turn out of events the show has ever seen, the unlikely Laycon emerged the winner of the show, after a rocky couple of weeks in the house.

While he was at the house, thousands of diehard fans on social media called icons teamed up and campaigned hard for him everywhere.

Of course, he couldn’t have done it without the help of those stans who will stop at nothing to promote him and his work. His numbers on streaming platforms skyrocketed and people got to know he’s a very good rapper.

Now he’s out of the house, and it’s time for him to move to the next chapter in his music career. This weekend, he’ll be dropping his debut album.

What To Expect

The album which is called, “Shall We Begin” is a 12-track LP, with guest appearances from Teni, Mayorkun, Starboy Terri, Joeboy and YKB.

He has already dropped two singles from the album, which are “Wagwan” and “Fall For Me” which features YKB.

Based on these releases, it’s safe to say that while there’s going to be a lot more to say, and a lot better production on this new album, the music wouldn’t be much different from the Laycon we all heard on the “Who is Laycon” EP.

Of course, he’s going to alternate between dropping dope bars and singing some melody, like he did on “Fall For Me.”

And with heavyweight features like what he has, he’s actually got a chance at making one or two hit songs.

I don’t see how this album can be bad, honestly. Laycon is a good artist, and he’s sure going to deliver. But mostly, what I look forward to on the album are the collaborations.

The album is due out this Friday, April 30.

BREAKING NEWS! Kaduna State University Hikes Tuition Fees From N26,000 To N500,000

 

Kaduna State University has reviewed its tuition fees from N24,000 and N26,000 to N150,000 and N500,000. Criticized and rejected by the students, the increment comes at a time when many are still recovering from the economic effects of Covid-19.

A press release by the Kaduna State Students’ Union stated that the majority of the students come from poor backgrounds and will not be able to cope with the high fees. The students’ union expressed fears about the effect of the increment, with the possibility of many students dropping out despite having scholarships.

The letter, addressed to Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the Governor of the state, is yet to receive any response.

But in a statement to NAN, the university’s Public Relation Officer (PRO), Adamu Nuhu Bargo, explained that the decision for an upward review in fee was to raise money for the university which has an annual internally generated revenue of N765.9 million. he said the university management had met with students and that the specific fees for each course are yet to be announced.

Abdulrazak Shuaibu, a medical student and former President of the Kaduna State Students’ Union, confirmed the exact figures to which the increment had been made. He told NAN that students in the Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences were to pay N150,000 from N26,000, while students from the Faculty of Medicine were to pay N300,000 for indigene students and N500,000 for non-indigene students as against N24,000.

While the students have rejected the increment, the university management has given the excuse of creating a “more conducive atmosphere of learning for staff and students” as part of the reasons for fee increment.

Blaqbonez Dropping A New Album — Features Nasty C, Laycon, Others (See Artwork and Tracklist)

 

Blaqbonez is not an overnight success at all, as this guy has been putting in the work for years.

Blaqbonez has been on the grind for as long as I can remember. He worked his way up from underground to mainstream all by himself.

He did this by being consistent on the scene. He dropped music consistently, and was a regular name at battle rap shows all over Nigeria.

Then a couple years back, he was at Hennessy‘s VS Class, and took part in the Hennessy Cyphers, alongside some of the best rappers in the country too.

MI Abaga and Chocolate City 

His big break, however, didn’t come until he did a reply to MI Abaga‘s “You Rapper Should Fix Up Your Life” in 2017.

MI Abaga, and the whole industry, in fact, started paying attention to him. Then A-Q signed him, and he did the “Bad Boy Blaq” project where he worked with artists like Oxlade and Ycee.

His name also was trending when he said he’s the best rapper in Africa, in 2019 and released the rap single, “BRIA.”

Then he did the Martell Cypher with A-Q, MI Abaga and Loose Kaynon, after which he did one of his most successful singles to date, “Shut Up.” All these while being the most valuable player under the MI Abaga-led Chocolate City label.

Switch Up to Afrobeats

Then in 2020, he switched up and made a mainstream hit, “Haba” and automatically became one of the guys everyone was watching out for.

“Haba” wasn’t the kind of song you’d expect from Blaqbonez, you’d actually listen and think it’s someone like Rema singing. But Blaq pulled it off.

He promoted it by being all over the place, and doing funny PR stunts, mostly on Twitter and Instagram. He followed up with “BBC” which was an instant hit, too. The remix featured Tiwa Savage.

Since that song blew up, it was only a matter of time before he came with another project.

New Album

This time he’s dropping a LP called “Sex Over Love” and has already put out one song from it, “Bling” which features Amaarae and Buju.

Moments ago, he shared the artwork and the tracklist on social media, and to be honest, it’s a star fest.

The album has guest appearances from South African rapper, Nasty C, Tiwa Savage, Laycon, Cheque, Joeboy, Bad Boy Timz among others.

This might just be Blaqbonez‘s best offering yet. See full tracklist below.

EEDRIS VS KEYAMO: Who Is At Fault, Childish, Hungry & A Political Idiot? (See Who)

 

Hours ago, the Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo, accused singer Eedris Abdulkareem of attempting to blackmail him.

Keyamo released chats where Eedris had reached out to him, asking to release a pro-Buhari song. When his request was denied, he decided to release a song, disparaging Festus Keyamo and the Buhari-led administration.

Festus called the singer and others like him “activists-by-day-and-hustlers-at-night.”

Reacting to the allegation, Eedris accused Keyamo of turning his back on him in his time of need despite being there for him.

MY OPINION:
I really don’t understand people anymore. All I see here is two kids in adult body.

Wait, is life so serious that I’m not longer aware?

Your mother is dying, she requires dialysis every month, you have kids to feed and bills to pay, you have projects that requires funds to sail, and then KEYAMO is your friend and you know that he has got the money.

So because he serves in a government that you regularly criticize, then he can’t be your friend and you cannot approach him for support?

Eedris Abdulkareem and Festus Keyamo should be ashamed of themselves. Two kids in adult body.

So two siblings cannot live in a house in peace and be supporters of Chelsea and Arsenal and enjoy a game together without breaking the TV?

Siblings and friends can’t be members of different political parties too?

Activist Owoyele Sowore’s brother is a core member of APC and holds a position in government. So if he decides to gift Sowore a car on his birthday, should Sowore reject it?

If Sowore has a project and his brother could harness his influence and back it up with resources, should Sowore not approach him because the money is from a government he condemns?

Is Buhari or APC the owner of all money in Nigeria?

Eedris Abdulkareem has every right to ask for help from anyone irrespective of how they make their money. Festus Keyamo is just a lawyer without brain.

What about “The Saraki Family” in Kwara state with Senator Bemisola Saraki and Bukola Saraki chronically indifferent in stand and party but still meeting often to advance the family’s business.

If someone is a drug dealer and they are generous to me, why should I feel guilty when they are arrested when I know nothing about the crime or been part of it, can anyone of us honestly swear that all the money they’ve ever been given or taken were from people who sourced them cleanly, the big churches sprouting like mushrooms here and there, were do you think most donations for them by members of the churches comes from?

Eedris Abdulkareem shouldn’t have called out Keyamo in the jagajaga reloaded song. I listened to it too and cringed. He even strategically said it as the sinker, which means if you fail to remember any lyrics of the song, that part will not be lost on you.

But Festus Keyamo is the bigger man, the more educated and exposed, not just a barrister of law but a senior advocate of Nigeria and a serving minister. He shouldn’t have responded. Releasing phone number and screenshots or private chats. So childish and silly.

Besides, the song wasn’t trending, he should have left it so, but now he’s giving the otherwise uninteresting and uninspiring track the needed publicity.

And if you know anything about advertisement, you’d know that no publicity can be bad publicity.

Indeed age, experience, status and money is not a function of wisdom.
Not in any way. Two kidmen.

I don’t have issues with Idris begging Keyamo for money. We all beg in different ways. But trying to do a PR for a govt you think has not performed is my worry. Or is it a case of seprating business and from conscience? Idris is a hypocrite.

On the Keyamo part, like I said earlier, as a lawyer, he shouldn’t have responded and releasing phone number and screenshots or private chats. So childish and silly. Should I be worried of my secret with my private lawyer going forward? Where do we draw the line between emotion and Ethic of profession?

If someone like Keyamo is your personal lawyer, I feel so sorry for you. You’re not safe.
