It’s a big shame that only 2% Nigerians has above 1000 dollars in their bank account.

The education system is often used as a filter to weed out the free-thinkers, rebels, “unconventional” and promote the passive, conventional and compliant ones to the next level.

Students are compelled to believe everything the teacher says, without verification.

The words of the education system became the guiding truth for youngsters. Usually, schools have unwritten rules regarding specific subjects that cannot be discussed.

Some topics are illogically labelled as vulgar or foolish, and those who have an interest in those subjects are often publicly ridiculed.

They condition the student to believe that failure to submit to the system will have serious consequences. No employment, poverty, and no future.

Also, the quality of education that is available to the lower social classes is reduced most of the time, which contributes to a gradual increase in the gap that exists between lower classes and the elite.

Like Most popular and wealthy figures such as Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Bezos, C Ronaldo, Messi, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, and Maradona etc.

None of these figures can boast of a university degree, but they had the courage to pursue their path to greatness with their natural instinct. Today all are legends in their own path.

Infinix Features 51 Rappers And Bags A Guinness World Record For Most People In An Online Rapping Relay

 

Infinix has bagged yet another awesome win and this time, they did it together with 51 distinctively gifted rhymesters.

In a bid to defy the odds of distance and create a shared experience among music lovers amidst the pandemic, Infinix pulled together 51 rappers from more than 15 countries to attempt the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for most people in an online rapping video relay.

The challenge which lasted for 1 minute and 11 seconds saw many rappers talking incredibly fast and barely taking a breath. Interestingly, the challenge saw a mix of languages as participants were permitted to rap in the official language of their respective countries.

That, and the sheer diversity of techniques used by the rappers made it all the more satisfying to watch. Some of the languages featured in the attempt include; English, French, Thai, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and Bahasa Indonesian.

The Guinness World Record attempt followed shortly after the launch of Infinix’s entertainment-centric smartphone – Hot 10. The Hot 10 was launched in September and it sported a list of amazing features to enhance users’ entertainment experience. Some of the sported features were; a long-lasting 5200mAh battery, Helio G70 gaming processor, 6.78-inch HD + Infinity-O display.

As is customary of Infinix, we expected an entertainment show to follow after the launch of the Hot 10. However, we certainly didn’t see a record-breaking event like this coming up.

The attempt was made on September 30. Participants were recorded from Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, China, India, Morocco, and Philippines among others.  The attempt has now been endorsed by Guinness World Record placing the smartphone brand and featured rappers as record holders.

In addition, four Nigerians by the name Moral ileh, Uduji Ikenna a.k.a (Duji Bombay) – who is actually a performing artiste that promotes his songs through his social media page –, Toluwase Moses, and Ebuka Wisdom Samuel were certified by the Guinness World Record officials.

BREAKING! Apple Loses Copyright (Read Details)

 

Apple Inc. lost its copyright claims against a Florida company that makes “virtual iPhones” used by security researchers to test for vulnerabilities to its system.

Apple contended Corellium LLC copied the operating system, graphical user interface and other aspects of the devices without permission. It accused Corellium of acting under the guise of helping discover bugs in the iPhone’s operating system but then selling the information “on the open market to the highest bidder.”

Corellium’s actions fell under an exception to copyright law because it “creates a new, virtual platform for iOS and adds capabilities not available on Apple’s iOS devices,” District Court Judge Rodney Smith in West Palm Beach ruled Tuesday. That Corellium sells its product “does not undermine its fair use defense, particularly considering the public benefit of the product.”

Apple has a “bounty program” where it rewards so-called white hat hackers who discover flaws in its system. The Cupertino, California-based company argued that the Corellium product went far beyond that, though Corellium said it evaluates potential customers and rejects some.

Corellium has said its customers are government agencies, financial institutions and security researchers and accused Apple of trying to control security research to limit what the public learns about vulnerabilities. Apple had been in talks to buy the company but the two sides couldn’t agree on a price, Smith said. Apple sued a year later.

Corellium’s virtual product is used on a desktop computer and can’t make phone calls, send text messages, access iTunes or do any of the other things an iPhone can.

“There is evidence in the record to support Corellium’s position that its product is intended for security research and, as Apple concedes, can be used for security research,” the judge said. “Further, Apple itself would have used the product for internal testing had it successfully acquired the company.”

Officials with the two companies didn’t immediately respond to queries seeking comment.

Apple argued that the case is similar to the billion-dollar dispute between Oracle Corp. and Alphabet Inc.’s Google unit, in which an appeals court rejected Google’s arguments that it had the right to copy Oracle code for inclusion into the Android operating system. The Supreme Court is considering the issue.

Smith said they aren’t comparable — Corellium transforms iOS and adds new content, and it isn’t a direct competitor. He said it was instead more like the case in which an appeals court ruled that Google’s creation of digital copies of books and display of snippets in search results was a fair use of copyrighted works.

The judge said that Corellium may still be in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which prohibits tools to circumvent security measures, so he declined to dismiss that aspect of the case at this stage. He ordered the two sides to submit a status report by Jan. 11 to determine how the case proceeds.

The ruling was reported earlier by the Washington Post.

Kukah’s Nepotism Statement Can Trigger Unintended Consequences – Lai Mohammed

 

Mathew Kukah has come under attack following his criticism of President Muhammadu, with the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese warned to desist from action that can “trigger unintended consequences.”

Giving this warning is the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, in a reaction to Kukah’s remark on Buhari’s government alleging that the president is running the affairs of the country with barefaced nepotism.

In a statement titled “FG Urges Religious Leaders To Eschew Message of Disharmony”, the senior minister stated that it is unbefitting of religious leaders to fan the embers of disunity and hatred.

Joshualoaded media recalls that in his Christmas message on Friday, December 25, titled, the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese had submitted that “there is no non-Muslim leader who could have done a fraction of what President Buhari has done by his nepotism and gotten away with it.”

Kukah’s criticism came amid backlashes that trailed the president’s political appointment and the security situation in the country.

But in a swift response, the information minister and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said it was “graceless and impious for any religious leader to use the period of Christmas, which is a season of peace, to stoke the embers of hatred, sectarian strife & national disunity.”

COVID-19: Omokri Slams FG Over Late Plans To Ban Flights From UK

 

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed the federal government over plans to ban flights coming in from the United Kingdom over the new strain of COVID-19 found in the country.

Recall that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Smart Adeyemi, on Monday said the National Assembly and the Ministry of Aviation were considering banning flights from the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries with high rates of COVID-19.

Reacting to this development on his Twitter page, Omokri expressed that the move to ban flights from the European nation is a late move.

OMG!! Two Doctors Die Of COVID-19 In Abuja

 

According to reports, two doctors have died of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Mr Anthony Ogunleye.

The FCTA said a female doctor with the Gwarimpa General hospital, passed on two weeks ago while a private medical doctor died last week.

“Since the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in the FCT on March 27th, 2020, a total of 4 doctors working in both public and private hospitals have regrettably succumbed to the disease,” the statement partly read.

“The latest, being a female doctor from Gwarimpa General hospital, who passed on two weeks ago and a private medical doctor over the last one week.”

We Would Have Been In Trouble If Borders Were Not Shut, Says Buhari

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed that Nigeria would have been in trouble if the land borders had not been closed last year.

He made this known while speaking at the fifth regular meeting with the Presidential Economic Advisory Council held on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja.

Recall that Nigeria’s land borders were closed for over a year.

President Buhari directed the Central Bank of Nigeria “must not give money to import food. Already about seven states are producing all the rice we need. We must eat what we produce.”

“Imagine what would have happened if we didn’t encourage agriculture and closed the borders. We would have been in trouble,” he said.

“We will continue to encourage our people to go back to the land. Our elite is indoctrinated in the idea that we are rich in oil, leaving the land for the city for oil riches.

“We are back to the land now. We must not lose the opportunity to make life easier for our people.”

Police Arrest Organisers Of Kaduna S3x Party

 

Kaduna State Police Command has arrested organisers of ‘Kaduna Sex Party’ which was widely promoted on social media platforms.

The event was slated to hold last Sunday before it was aborted by the authorities.

A media aide to Kaduna State governor, Abdallah Yunus Abdallah confirmed the arrest of the organisers, who had asked attendees to go to the venue without clothes.

He said the phone number used for the publicity was what was used in tracking the organisers.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command ASP Mohammed Jagile also confirmed the arrest of the event promoters.

BUSTED!! Interpol Traces €500,000 COVID-19 Fraud To Nigeria (Read Full Details)

 

The International Criminal Police Organisation, popularly called Interpol, has traced a €500,000 COVID-19 fraud to Nigeria.

The organisation made this known in a statement on its website titled, ‘Unmasked: International COVID-19 fraud exposed’.

According to the statement, the scheme was coordinated using compromised emails, advance-payment fraud, and money laundering.

It stated that the fraud was uncovered by financial institutions and authorities across Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands, as part of a case coordinated by INTERPOL.

The statement read in part, “In mid-March, as a number of countries were going into lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak, German health authorities contracted two sales companies in Zurich and Hamburg to procure EUR 15 million worth of face masks. With a global shortage on medical supplies complicating usual business channels, the buyers followed new leads in the hopes of securing the masks.

“It all started with an email address and website which appeared to be linked to a legitimate company in Spain selling face masks. Unbeknownst to the buyers, the site was a fake and their legitimate email addresses had been compromised.

“Through email correspondence, the company initially claimed to have 10 million masks, only for the delivery to fall through. As consolation, they then referred the buyers to a ‘trusted’ dealer in Ireland. The Irish middleman promised to put them in touch with a different supplier, this time in the Netherlands.

“Claiming to have a strong commercial relationship with the company, the man provided assurances that the alleged Dutch company would be able to supply the 10 million face masks. An agreement for an initial delivery of 1.5 million masks was made, in exchange for an up-front payment of EUR 1.5 million.

“The buyers initiated a bank transfer to Ireland and prepared for delivery, which involved 52 lorries and a police escort to transport the masks from a warehouse in the Netherlands to the final destination in Germany.

“Just before the delivery date, the buyers were informed that the funds had not been received and that an emergency transfer of EUR 880,000 straight to the Dutch supplier was required to secure the merchandise.

“The buyers sent the wire transfer and the masks never arrived. It turns out the Dutch company existed, but their website had also been cloned. There was no official record of the order.

“When the buyers realized they had been duped, they immediately contacted their bank in Germany, which in turn contacted INTERPOL’s Financial Crimes unit, setting off a race to intercept the funds and follow the money trail.

“The Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service quickly tracked down the EUR 880,000 which had been transferred from the German company. Nearly EUR 500,000 of those funds had already been sent to the United Kingdom, all of which was destined for an account in Nigeria.”

749 New COVID-19 Cases, 580 Discharged And 3 Deaths On December 29

 

On the 29th of December 2020, 749 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

Till date, 85560 cases have been confirmed, 71937 cases have been discharged and 1267 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 749 new cases are reported from 19 states- Lagos (299), Plateau (131), Kaduna (83), FCT (74), Kwara (35), Sokoto (26), Edo (18), Kano (17), Katsina (16), Delta (11), Nasarawa (10), Ondo (9), Bauchi (9), Rivers (5), Akwa Ibom (3), Jigawa (1), Osun (1) and Ekiti (1).

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.

COVID-19: January Will Be Tough, NCDC Warns Nigerians

 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has stated that the health system of this country is struggling to cope with the increasing number of coronavirus cases.

The Centre on Tuesday revealed that there would be an increase in COVID-19 cases by January 2021.

The Director-General, NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this known while speaking at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Tuesday.

He said,

“We just faced the worst week since we started responding to this outbreak. We had more cases in Nigeria last week than in any other previous week since the beginning of the outbreak.

“Pictures and videos from across the country paint a very disheartening situation because it appears that our messages, our appeals to Nigerians over the last few months have not been heeded and we have gone ahead with business as usual.

“Events centres are full, social activities are full and so it is no surprises that cases are rising.

“January will be a tough month, no doubt about it. So, we have to brace ourselves for the consequences of the activities that we have decided to carry out in December.”

Joshua had given several prophecies including that concerning the United States’ election from the mountain.

Nothing Must Happen To Kukah – ECWA Warns

Against the backdrop of threat and intimidation against the person of the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah over his Christmas Message, General Secretary, Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Rev. Yunusa Sabo Nmadu Jnr has warned that nothing negative must happen to him.

This is also like the youth wing of Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) has described the statement credited to Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) and signed by it’s national President Yerima Shetima, calling for the arrest of Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah over his Christmas day message as ‘baseless and senseless’.

According to the ECWA scribe in a statement signed by him, he has read so many reactions to the bishop’s message with many of them coming from Muslim and Northern groups.

He averred that “some uncharitable groups have even called for the arrest of our revered Bishop. Arrest a man that spoke the minds of millions of Nigerian? They must be joking” he stated.

Reverend Nmadu further said that there is nothing new about what Bishop Kukah said, stressing that “the Bishop has spoken our minds, and we will resist any attempt by any group or agency of Government to harm him. Enough of this intimidation.

“This style of governance to silent dissent voices by the Major General Muhammadu Buhari led administration is unacceptable and must be resisted.

“We invite the international community and Nigerians to hold General Buhari and his government responsible should anything happen to Bishop Kukah.

“As a matter of fact, Nepotism under General Buhari administration is topnotch. This administration has a first-class in nepotism and maladministration.

“The Federal Government must immediately take steps towards addressing those concerns raised by Bishop Kukah, rather than sponsoring fake groups to attack the revered Bishop.

“There is no denying the fact that Nigeria under General Buhari is now a centre of bloodshed. Killings, banditry, kidnappings and all forms of insecurities are now an order of the day. The President should face the job for which he swore to. Mr. President, fulfill your campaign promises, secure the country and make life better for all of us.

“The earlier this administration take steps to addressing these genuine concerns and stop living in denial, the better for them and the country”.

He emphasised that the country belongs to all of us and that no section of this country should be made superior to the other. We are bonafide citizens with equal rights. “Enough of this shenanigans” he further stressed.

SOKAPU in their own statement said the Bishop’s message was borne out of love for the country when he stated the obvious that “considering the gross nepotistic leadership style of the president and his administration, the president would have been long overthrown if he were to be a Non-Northern Muslim”.

In a statement signed by Comrade John Isaac, National Youth Leader of SOKAPU youth wing, the union expressed surprise and sadness that despite the visible failure of the Buhari administration which they claimed is evident in the high rate of kidnapping and banditry even in the president’s Katsina, people could still defend him.

“That despite the poor state of the Nigerian economy which has seen Nigeria plunged into recession for the second time in five years with a ridiculous foreign reserve and an embarrassing debt profile.

“That despite clear signs of maladministration in the Buhari’s administration evident in the fact that the administration has continuously bankrolled bandits and terrorist Boko Haram groups through the payment of ransoms and freeing of captured terrorist members under the guise of “repentant members”.

“That despite the clandestine and lopsided composition of the security architecture of the country, the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum could allow itself to drown in the murky waters of tribalism, ethnic loyalty and religious bigotry, choosing to look away from the realities of the North which has become a pool of blood and a yard of graves.

“Yerima’s North is unarguably a valley of dry bones, a dent of terror and horror and unquestionably the most insecure and dangerous part of the country where no one is safe including the President”.

SOKAPU, therefore, averred that it is unfortunate that the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum would call for the arrest of a Bishop who only pointed out the obvious, stressing that “It thus appears that the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum is naive of historical facts.

“It has become necessary therefore to state in clear terms that the entire youths of Southern Kaduna distant and disassociates themselves from the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum’s call for the arrest of Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, a call we all considers as not just baseless but senseless”.

SOKAPU youth wing also said that the Buhari administration is undoubtedly the greatest political and administrative fiasco Nigeria has had since independence.

“While we the Youths and People of Southern Kaduna stands firmly with Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah and condemn any call for his arrest.

“We are calling on all well-meaning Nigerians to speak out and save the country from sliding into a failed state as the signals are at the moment clearly visible to the blind and audible to the deaf”.

3 People Killed In Ejigbo, Osun As 2 Clubs Clash (Graphic Photos)

 

Two groups of hoodlums at Ori-Eru area in Ejigbo Local Government Area, Osun State clashed on Monday as three people reportedly killed.

It was gathered that the two groups identified as “Lion Base Youth Club” and “Isale Agooji Youth Club” were at the loggerhead over the superiority of who controls the area.

Residents scampered for safety as the bickering escalated and the hoodlums started brandishing cutlasses and other dangerous weapons in the area at each other.

A source in the community revealed that three people were reportedly killed during the clash while some hoodlums sustained injuries.

The spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed that there was a crisis in the community.

She confirmed that one person identified as Abeeb Abifarin was killed and his left hand was cut off.

“The crisis that happened at Ori-Eru, Ejigbo on December 28, 2020. One Mutiu Abifarin of Oke Dada’s compound in Ejigbo reported to us that his younger brother was killed at Ori-Eru and his left hand was cut off.”

She noted that officers visited the scene and the corpse was deposited to Adeeyo Mortuary for autopsy.

A brave female Point of Sale (POS) operator disarmed two suspected armed robbers who attempted to steal her money in Uhogwa, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo state.

It was gathered that the suspects, Andrew Adubu and Destiny Olu, pretending to be customers, came to the POS shop, located at the entrance of the IDP Camp on Monday, December 28 and requested to withdraw the sum of N200, 000 from their account.

When the female operator inserted their ATM card into the POS terminal, the hoodlums brought out a locally-made pistol and ordered her to give them the cash and her mobile phones.

However, the woman struck the hand of the one pointing the gun at her and the weapon fell off his hand. She then raised an alarm which attracted security agents stationed inside the IDP camp, who in turn, responded swiftly and arrested the suspects.

Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were trying to raise money to take care for their family needs during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

One locally-made pistol, three cartridges and an unregistered motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, called for effective collaboration from members of the public.

Nwabuzor added that policemen have been placed in strategic positions accross the state to deal with criminal elements.

RCCG Cancels Cross-Over Service Nationwide

 

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has cancelled New Year crossover service in its churches nationwide.

This is coming after the Christian leadership in the country directed worship centres to respect governments’ directives on New Year crossover services.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle, said CAN understand the unfortunate state the coronavirus pandemic has put everybody worldwide.

However, RCCG instructed members to connect with the virtual service of the church.

It stated further that the January Holy Ghost Service (the first of the year 2021) taking place on Friday, January 8, will be held virtually.

Members were advised to tune in to Dove television and other electronic media to link up with the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s End of Year message and other aspects of the crossover programme.

1. Lil Beating Violence On His Girlfriend

In the midst of efforts to live up to expectations on his Mega DMW record deal, Lil Frosh got caught up with scandal of domestic violence in his relationship with young model and video vixen, CuteGeminme.

Someone who got fed up of what the lady has been going through all in the name of relationship with Lil Frosh opened up on how the DMW act has been beating up his girlfriend as if her family members gave her to him as collateral for cash loan.

According to the receipts of the violence posted online, the lady’s face got swollen up, thereby making a cute fine girl look like “Oshaa” (a diety).

The Lady herself, CuteGeminme also came on social media to reveal what led to the gruesome beating. She said, Lil Frosh got angry because her friend spoke to him rudely on phone and she got beaten because she could not be his defender.

This story met with a lot of angry reactions from the Feminist Association of Nigeria and these reactions forced DMW to terminate Lil Frosh’s record deal as the label issued a disclaimer saying, they don’t support violence on women.

Fortunately, Lil Frosh who denied all the allegations with proof that the lady was actually suffering from allergic reaction has been able to move on from the drama as his new single, “Oshaa” is currently making waves everywhere with loads of positive reviews.

2. Laycon & Erica BBNaija Hot Drama 

In a confused situation-ship that lasted almost 3 months in the just concluded Big Brother Naija season 5, Laycon and Erica seemed to be the main talking point of the show.

A relationship that never started well between the most underrated housemate “Laycon” and Erica who seemed to be the “alpha female” in the house. Erica saw her physical wants in a man in Kidwaya and saw every other ones in Laycon who she never wants to be seen with.

Such confusion grew into hatred and it led to a fight triggered by alcohol after their usual Saturday night party.

In a fight that saw Laycon quiet from the start till the end. Erica was guilty of threatening Laycon with death after calling names like ugly, nonstick, mop stick and other crazy names. She peppered prince who happened to be her deputy HOH then.

However, Mavin Producer, Don Jazzy, and some Nigerian celebrities reacted to the drama between the duo. Some celebrities applauded Laycon for keeping cool despite the insults rained at him. He got more fans and support from there as well.

From the look of things, it appeared that Burna Boy does not perceive Davido as talented and worthy of all the hype around him in the music industry.

Davido who will always want to prove that he is OBO, the son of his father wouldn’t allow anyone talk down his efforts and the works he has put in to get to where he is today.

It all started when Burna Boy made a cryptic tweet about a footballer who is known by everybody as skill-less but made first team because his father bought the whole football club.

Davido had also thrown shades at Burna Boy by tweeting a manipulated photo of himself and Wizkid with caption; “2 Greatest Of All Time”.

After Burna Boy’s second Grammy Nomination, he fired back at Davido calling him small child in an Instagram post.

Both artistes have also made a whole track to shade themselves, while Burna Boy said he’s “Way Too Big“, Davido replied saying “FEM” (shut up).

Just recently, both artistes made their fight physical at a club in Ghana where they exchanged blows, if not for their team who separated them, one person would have landed in hospital.

Hopefully, these 2 guys will bury the hatchet this year but I doubt.

4. DJ Switch Lekki Shooting IG Live Controversy

The month of October was meant to be a month of celebration, a month Nigeria got her independence and could have been a month when the youth got liberation from the bad governance and police brutality.

After several days of relentless protest themed “EndSars”, a motive to put an end to the mental and physical abuse of Nigerian police force. Little did people know that the peaceful protest at Lekki toll-gate will degenerate into a live horror movie soon.

20-10-20, on a early Tuesday evening things took a drastic turn as DJ Switch was peacefully protesting with others at the Lekki toll gate in a Lagos suburb.

Suddenly, gunshots rang out over the crowd, people were waving flag thinking the army will respect the national symbol but NO!! they continue raining gunshots on peaceful Nigerians protesting.

To document the incident for the world to say, DJ Switch was quick to launch IG Live on her phone to show the world how the soldiers aim to kill Nigerians.

She recalls seeing soldiers followed by policemen arriving and opening fire, in the process she instinctively pulled out her phone and started livestreaming the unfolding events on Instagram.

20-10-20, was the day DJ Switch became one of the buhari led government’s biggest enemy. She decided to continue the protest the second day but was stopped by her team. Since then, she’s gone into exile and has been government wish list.

5. The Arrest Of Hushpuppi

Dubai-Based Nigerian big boy, Hushpuppi met his doom this year after several years of balling and living large on fraud funds.

Hushpuppi became popular in Nigeria’s entertainment industry as a socialite who is loved by many celebrities and upcoming yahoo-boys.

His arrest by Dubai police caused a national uproar in Nigeria’s entertainment industry as his celebrity friends and fans reacted in their multitude on social media.

What even made Hushpuppi’s arrest more interesting is the fact Dubai Police made a full documentary of his arrest detailing how much he and his gang have made off swindling people of their hard-earned money through a well-organized cyber-crime.

Hushpuppi was later transferred to United states where the victim of his fraud doings reside the most.

Although, his trial has been suspended while he is cooling off in California prison, we hope when his trial resumes in 2021, he will be released on bail at least. We don miss Hushpuppi oo!

6. Omah Lay & Tems Arrest In Uganda

Omah Lay and Tems‘ arrest in Uganda cannot be ignored while discussing issues that took place in 2020.

Nigerian artistes, Stanley Omah Didia a.k.a Omah Lay and Temilade Openiyi a.k.a Tems were arrested and charged to court for “Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases.” in Uganda. The artists were arrested after they allegedly performed in a concert at Uganda.

Reports confirmed that Dungu Ivan, the manager of the venue where Omah Lay and Tems performed and Prim Kasana, the event manager were arrested alongside the artiste.

According to the Ugandan news outlet, The Independent, the organizers of the event disguised the show as a lunch and dinner event but later on, at night started inviting artists to perform.

They were held in custody for days before Nigerians came hard on the Ugandan government and one of the popular Uganda artist Bebecool who was highly instrumental to getting them arrested.

They were later released few days later after the intervention of Nigerian government.

It was one of the moment we saw the power of togetherness of Nigerian artistes this year after the Sorosoke/Endsars campaign.

7. 9ice Cheating Scandal

Celebrity lifestyle without discipline will get your name into the mud and might end your career slowly.

Few months back, a viral video dropped online of 9ice and his girlfriend. “9ice in the video gave a disclaimer that nobody should waste their money on the girl because he owns her 100%”

The girl further released more mind blowing nudes of the singer as she does not want to cast alone.

8. Dbanj Rape Allegation

2020 was ironically an interesting year for most Nigerians giving the ups and downs we all went through.

Most celebrities will remember 2020 as a controversial year and one that will not be easily forgotten.

On the list of these celebrities is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as Dbanj.

It started out on tweeter when one Seyitan called out the singer for raping her.

Seyitan had accused him of raping her at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2018.

Recounting the incident via her twitter handle, she said that he raped her in her room. She ended her tweets by demanding an apology.

She claimed the singer went to the hotel where she lodged for the night, got a spare key from the receptionist, entered her room and raped her.

The singer reacting to the allegation described the incident as a slap to his marriage and his beautiful wife. He did not stop there as he had to knack Seyitan a N100 million defamation law suit.

It was not an interesting moment for Dbanj as a lot of celebrities such as Rita Dominic, MI Abaga, Toke Makinwa and a host of others had to weigh in.

At first, when the allegations were tweeted, the public had full support for Seyitan not even considering if it was true or not.

Tables turned moment D’banj had to say his own side of the story and claimed all that Seyitan had tweeted were false.

The Nigerian police had to take Seyitan into custody for further questioning all in knowing of ‘the truth’ as to what really happened that said night.

Well, she was released as a lot of people had to intervene in the matter pleading for Seyitan but we do not think this will leave the heart of the singer as the rape allegation poses as a stain to the singer’s career.

Note: Dbanj lost his N45million endorsement deal with a new generation Bank and had over 15,000 people signed an online petition calling on the United Nations to strip him of his appointment as a UN Ambassador for Peace.

9. Funke Akindele House Party Drama

One of the most industry shaking controversies that happened in the year 2020 was that of House party thrown by Funke Akindele during COVID lockdown.

The house party was thrown as a celebration for the 43rd birthday party of the Actress husband, JJC Skillz at their home in Amen Estate, Ibeju Lekki.

Funke Akindele who was one of the leading celebrities in the fore front of the fight against COVID in the country, was now the one flouting the rules.

This particular f*ck up doesn’t sit well with Nigerians as they dragged the actress and her husband like tiger generator on social media.

The viral video that casted the party, showed the couple dancing to Naira Marley’s “Tesu Mole”. Naira Marley who was in attendance alongside several other party guests who were also vibing to his music.

Funke Akindele was charged to court and she was fined up to the tune of N100,000. Rumor even has it that she did community service, but I wasn’t sure.

Then Funke Akindele made a video to publicly apologize to her fans and every Nigerian – That’s a boss move.

10. Naira Marley Fashola Impersonation Drama

This is another scandal that enveloped the street’s most accepted artiste after EFCC saga in 2019.

We all know the rules and regulations laid down to curb the spread of COVID-19. The gathering of more than 50 people was prohibited but because Marlians don’t follow rules, Naira Marley headlined a music concert in Abuja.

At the time when all flights were banned except for some public officials, Naira Marley allegedly took advantage of the similarities in his name and that of Nigeria’s Minister of works, Babatunde Fashola to by-pass that government order.

Fortunately, he escaped punishments as all punishment went completely to the mall the concert was held in Abuja.

However, this resulted into unrestricted insult as the executive chairman of the Jet company, Dr. Sam Iwuajoku called Naira Marley and his crew “a bunch of useless people” inside an official memo.

Naira Marley promptly reply the statement via his Twitter page saying;

“Lool they asked for our names on the jet though and looooooooool ur pilot is a Marlian and everybody there is a Marlian too.

My name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola and my lil brothers name is moshood babatunde fashola and u was begging me to tag y’all.
